Nintendo Wii

Earlier this week, papa brought back a Wii for us to try out.  He told us that Uncle Poo is not using it at the moment and will let us have it until he gets his own TV in his room.

The controller fits nicely into my hands surprisingly!  Well, maybe not, it is designed for the family anyway.

Papa likes to play Wii golf …

Oh, I forgot to mention this, this Wii is a Japanese unit (Uncle Poo was in Japan for 4 years) and I learnt how to navigate around the Japanese menu after papa showed it to me just once!

Papa has a video of me bowling but he doesn’t want to upload to YouTube (not sure what that is … he just says YouTube!).  BTW, mama is hooked on this thing and wants to get a unit for ourselves!

MyMelody bedside lamp

We were at Tropicana City and mama being mama, saw this cute MyMelody bedside lamp!  She showed it to sis and obviously, she wanted it.

Anyway, sis is very happy with it and she will proudly switch it on at night and happily turn it off before going to bed.

Kid’s Bikes!

A normal Saturday, where we go over to grandpa and grandma’s place and have dinner out.  We were at Tropicana City … my first time there … for dinner at this new place called Room 18 or 18 Room …

After dinner, where I ate half of papa’s congee as I did not like the chee cheong fun, we went for a walk-about.  Mei2 and myself had some fun at a kids amusement park but the highlight of the day was this really cool bike …

I was cycling all over the place and mama asked the guy about the price of the bike. Guess what!

The one I was riding on is 4,000 coins (according to mama)!  And there’s a lower priced one as well, at 3,000 coins!  There goes my cool bike!  For adults they even have a version that’s more than 20,000 coins.

Oh, well … kids can’t have everything …

Easter Eggs

On Sunday, there was an easter egg hunt for kids around our place.  Nothing really to report other than we had fun running around the place looking for coloured eggs

We actually coloured some easter eggs, between sis and myself, we actually had 3 (can’t remember why, something to do with one of them cracked).

Qing Ming; Cheng Beng; Clear Bright Festival

Qing Ming, or sometimes known as tomb sweeping day generally coincides with Easter but somehow, this year, it’s a week earlier.  Last weekend, papa drove the whole family to Malacca for Qing Ming.

Mama has already informed me that it is time that I help out and learn a little more about this festival.  So, I went with Pei Kong (grandpa’s elder brother), grandpa, papa, grand auntie (grandpa’s younger sister) and one koh (papa’s cousin sister).

We visited a few graves where we clean the surroundings and gave a little prayer to the heavens and also to our ancestors.

My favourite part was to help out with the burning of gifts for our ancestors.

Times of bad economy according to papa.  Someone tried to “steal” the 1928 tiles of great-great-grandmother’s grave.  Papa says that those tiles can fetch a very good price as a gift.

We end the tradition by burning gold nuggets (made of paper) for our ancestors.

Futsal … errr … Soccer?

futsal

the-playersoccer-momThis is the 2nd Saturday that I went to have a go at soccer in a futsal in-door court.  Why soccer?  Well, the Australians still call it soccer although officially it is called football.  There’s also the soccer mum in tow! Thanks mum for waking up early and making the practise-sessionthe-fanarrangements.

Oh, of course, there will also be my number 1 fan this week.  She insisted on coming along as she was bored stiff with papa last Saturday.

Papa took the pictures this week but since it was quite dark and he did not want to disturb us using his flashgun, he took them as it is.  He apologizes for the colours.

We are taking a few weeks off, so I have to wait until the end of April before we have another session.  Mummy is wondering if I need shin guards.
